My wife and I enjoyed the 2007 Asheville Film Festival and look forward to this year’s events.  One suggestion regarding the actual showing of selected movies.  We saw several movies at the Fine Arts Theater and noticed that the projectors used were not always appropriate for the DVD format selected by the movie’s producers (at least this is what we were told when we advised both volunteers and theater personnel).  On at least two occasions, the images in the movies were accordingly distorted which we are sure would have dismayed the producers were they present during the showing.  Suggest there be an effort made to ensure there is a match of the equipment required for showing the movies with the theater’s abilities.  Or perhaps notify patrons of the problem before the movie is shown so they don’t worry about something that can’t be helped.  Regards, Hank Young
