Discussion: Past festivals
What could the festival improve on in the future — and what have been some favorite parts of past festivals?

I would love to see more documentaries. The ones that have been shown in the past were some of the best films in competition. There should also be more films to choose from...as well as additional downtown locations for screenings. |

Put some type of rating on the films so parents can avoid taking a child into something inappropriate. |

I have heard filmmakers complain in the past that there is not enough Q&A;time after each session. I know there is a limitation due to the number of films and locations, but don’t you think that the filmmakers should have greater access to the public since this is a venue for their films at this ‘newer’ film fest? Especially for sessions of shorts and student projects where they might be four or more films screened. |

Only allow high quality local commercials before the films. I was in the audience during a few films where local commercials started and so did the chuckles and laughter. Not a good first impression for Asheville. Where does it say, because someone is a sponsor, they get to have their commercial shown? There needs to be quality control. Let Asheville use the pre-show opportunity to showcase abilities and talents for the national audience. |
